Introduction:
This section acquaints the reader with the setting of your paper. It consists of:
· A statement of the purpose of your work.
· An introduction to the topic of your paper.
· A presentation of any important “history” concerning the topic.
· A discussion of the scientific concepts and terminology involved.
The introduction puts the reader in the right frame of mind to appreciate your findings and/or discussion.
Design and Construction:
This section describes clearly and completely in paragraph form:
· Ideas considered early in the design process.
· Procedures and results of quantitative tests.
· Design choices based on test results.
· The construction process.
· Procedure for final test.
This section should include (if possible):
· Illustrations, graphs, and tables which show characteristics of the data or calculations based on the data.
· Diagram or photograph of the final product after construction (or a window screenshot if your product is a computer program).
This section does not include:
· Tables of raw data. (Please attach a neatly handwritten copy of your raw data to the back of your paper.)
Results:
This section states clearly and completely in paragraph form:
· Results of the final test.
Discussion:
Here you will draw conclusions, summarizing and drawing together the main results. Indicate how these conclusions are consistent with the observed data. Tell how these conclusions directly address your purpose for doing the work.
You may also wish to comment on
possible sources of error and suggest improvements for further work.
