Effort: Give our class your best effort every day!  Here's how to show your effort: Be prepared!  Have all your materials out and ready at the start of class. Be prompt!  Be in your seat working when the bell rings. Be productive!  Use your time wisely (and that of your peers and teacher). Be polite!  Show proper respect to yourself, your peers, and your teacher. Attendance: Labs, projects, discussions, and other activities are important components of this course.  If you miss them you will be expected to work extra hard to keep up.  You must do more than simply copy a friend's notes.

Make-up work:

• If you miss a class, call a friend and check the physics web page so you can have the assignment the day you return.
• You have one day to make up homework for each day you were absent.
• If you miss a lab, test or quiz you must see the teacher on your first day back to make arrangements to make up what you missed.
• Homework should be done completely for credit. Late work will be penalized 50% for each day that it is late.  (Two days late earns no credit, but you are still expected to do the work.)  Some work will not be accepted beyond the due date.

Supplies:

• Three-ring binder for daily materials (This must be complete with pockets, dividers, and filler paper for notes, homework, etc. Do not keep papers in your textbook.)
• Calculator (This must have square root, sine, cosine, and tangent buttons.  In short, use a scientific calculator.  Do not play calculator games in class at any time.)
• Pencils with erasers (Homework, quizzes, and tests are to be done neatly in pencil.)
• Protractor (The one included in your assignment notebook is fine for most activities. If you didn't receive one on the first day of school, see your homeroom teacher.)

Grading:

• Grades will be determined according to the following system (subject to change):

  • Homework and Daily Work = 40%
  • Tests & Quizzes = 40%
  • Projects & Labs = 20%
